Contenido: The aim of this article is to analyse the disciplinary field of medical sexology and the way in which this speciality relates productively to the bodies of those it treats, mainly cissexual men and women. The article is divided into three sections. The first section analyses the configuration of the clinical strategies of sexology in relation to the field of medicine, with special emphasis on the development of sexual function and sexual response as categories that shape the clinical sexological object. The second part analyses the two “practical imbalances” that characterise this speciality: the one that takes place between the making of the diagnosis and the therapeutic stage, and the one that is located between psychotherapies and pharmacological therapies. The third part explores the differential ways in which medical sexology, its clinical strategies and these practical imbalances are related to the approach to the main consultations of cis men and cis women: “erectile dysfunction” and “hypoactive sexual desire”, respectively. The methodological strategy is guided by science and technology studies and feminist epistemologies. A collection of forty five heterogeneous materials is analysed: interviews with doctors, training programmes, medical articles, among others.

Contenido: The object of this article is the conception of sexual education developed by the first Uruguayan doctor Paulina Luisi, one of the pioneers in the Río de La Plata to assume relevance and guide certain principles around sexual education. To do this, we are interested in focusing on his Chair of Social Hygiene (1926-1930) for students of the Normal schools, a curricular experience that meant being one of the first attempts to institutionalize sex education in normalist teacher education. We will investigate how sexuality and its problems were expressed in Luisi’s pedagogical discourse, covering the moral, pedagogical and scientific foundations that supported his proposal. The article, inscribed in the field of the History of Education, particularly in the History of sex education, advances with a qualitative analysis from various sources such as “Some Ideas on Eugenia” (1916), Plan and Methods of Sexual Teaching (1919), “A Better Offspring” (1919), Essay on Biological-Eugenic Teaching (1921, 1923), A Chair in Social Hygiene (1950). Under the readings of these writings, we intend to make visible the theoretical foundations of the moral norms that Luisi tried to define sexuality and the most appropriate means for its formation, in articulation with the eugenic ideas that stained much of medical and social thought at the beginning of the 20th century. The sexual education proposed by Luisi had as its objective the “control of the instincts” and the formation of an “informed and responsible intelligence” towards the offspring (genetic responsibility); a sexual education also articulated to the prevention of the venereal diseases contagion and in the generation of healthy descendants that would allow the improvement of the race. In his projection, he imagined sexual education at all levels of education in public education, proposing a relevant role to families and teachers. He questioned the positions that opted for the silencing of issues related to sexuality to children and youth, and. As will be noted in his Chair experience, his curricular and methodological commitment sought to place sexuality and its problems in the pedagogical-political debate, a pedagogical essay that linked science, morals and eugenics.

Contenido: The present work illuminates a subject that has been taboo for canonical criticism on the most important novel of Clarice Lispector. This perspective reconfigures the readings made and updates the configurations on abortion, maternity and life, as it formulates a time-space and an idea of life that transcends the human thing, blurring the boundaries between species, and even between the organic and inorganic world.

Contenido: In this article, I propose that Libertad Demitrópulos rewrites, in Río de las congojas (1981), the colonial chronicles in order to imprint a trace bearing feminine subjectivities, alternate from the existing ones in the official archive of her production context. Said procedure is achieved through the resemantization of a specific category: the female ornament. The novel challenges the hegemonic meaning of this notion, and creates, in its place, a new poetics about ornament which is able to discuss the dominant archive during the years of State Terrorism.

Contenido: Uno de los ejes del pensamiento social feminista es el vínculo entre las desigualdades de género (subordinación, demandas de igualdad y de emancipación, etcétera) y otras desigualdades sociales (de clase, étnicas y raciales, de nacionalidades y edades, con todas sus jerarquías de poder). En una perspectiva de historia de las ideas, este artículo rastrea los aportes teóricos al análisis de las relaciones entre clases sociales y género en el capitalismo, trayendo a la actualidad los modelos analíticos de Heleieth Saffioti y de Isabel Larguía y John Dumoulin, desarrollados los años sesenta y setenta del siglo pasado. Analizar ese pensamiento y traerlo al ámbito de los debates contemporáneos es un ejercicio de memoria personal y un intento de transmisión de ideas y de protagonistas que, por motivos que superan este texto, han sido silenciadas y quizás hasta olvidadas en el pensamiento actual. La noción de interseccionalidad, a menudo presentada como una gran novedad contemporánea, puede ganar mucho si se buscan sus hondas raíces en estas pensadoras pioneras.

Contenido: Este trabajo expone aspectos centrales del debate entre Slavoj Zizek y Judith Butler sobre el concepto de “sujeto vacío” en las ciencias sociales. Para ello, se revisa sucintamente el origen de esta discusión centrada en el concepto de “interpelación ideológica”, tal como fue planteada en los años sesenta, a fin de realizar, posteriormente, un balance de ambas argumentaciones. Aunque al final se reconoce un punto argumental al pensador esloveno, se presenta la postura de Judith Butler como la más conducente para pensar los problemas de la subjetividad contemporánea.AbstractBasically, this paper exposes central aspects of S. Zizek and Judith Butler’s debate on the problem of the “empty subject” in social sciences. To do so, it goes briefly through the origin of this discussion focused on the notion of “ideological interpellation”, as it was exposed during the last 70, to confront afterwards both argumentations. Even in the end it must be admitted that Slovenian thinker has a good point in his argumentation, Butler’s position is considered more appropriate to think contemporary subjectivity.

Contenido: Considerando abordajes recientes sobre las geografías afectivas y sobre los vínculos entre memoria y materialidad, este artículo analiza los documentales Tres semanas después (2010), de José Luis Torres Leiva, y Tierra en movimiento (2014), de Tiziana Panizza. Estos dos itinerarios por una geografía sísmica ofrecen modos de comprender el desastre y elaborar la pérdida a través de un “trabajo del duelo” que insiste en la materialidad y espectralidad del espacio. La atención de Torres Leiva en los escombros y en las performances de destrucción del paisaje, y el registro de Panizza de las texturas de los materiales blandos en el retrato de la cotidianeidad de una “comunidad humano sísmica”, dan cuenta tanto de los modos en que los filmes movilizan imágenes que “nos mueven” como del potencial de las prácticas estéticas para articular formas de “estar juntos” después de una pérdida.
