In this text we make a possible tour of two books of the work of Didier Fassin. We refer to The forces of order An ethnography of police action in the urban peripheries and Punish. A contemporary passion. Beyond the different approaches assumed in each one of them, we set out to address them together in order to see some elements that we find interesting to enrich the view of those who, from the social sciences, propose to study the punishment and actions of the security forces. - En el presente texto realizamos un recorrido posible por dos libros de la obra de Didier Fassin. Nos referimos a Las fuerzas del orden Una etnografía del accionar policial en las periferias urbanas y a Castigar. Una pasión contemporánea. Más allá de los distintos enfoques asumidos en cada uno de ellos nos propusimos abordarlos en conjunto para de ese modo ver algunos elementos que nos parecen interesantes para enriquecer la mirada de aquellos que, desde las ciencias sociales, nos proponemos estudiar el castigo y el accionar de las fuerzas de seguridad.
