The armed conflict in the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas represents the most dramatic chapter in a history crossed by colonialism. The research aims to reflect on the dynamics of the link between Argentine foreign policy and defense policy through the historical study and the problematization of those aspects of the internal order marked by the closure of the import substitution industrialization process and a profound social restructuring. . Consequently, it is intended to pay for the identification of those elements that determined the confrontation and the unilateral closure of the negotiations mandated by the United Nations Organization between the occupying power, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Republic Argentina. - El conflicto bélico en las Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur, Sandwich del Sur y los espacios marítimos circundantes representa el capítulo más dramático a lo largo de una historia atravesada por el colonialismo. La investigación pretende reflexionar sobre la dinámica del vínculo entre la política exterior argentina y la política de defensa a través del estudio histórico y la problematización de aquellos aspectos del orden interno signados por la clausura del proceso de industrialización por sustitución de importaciones y una profunda reestructuración social. En consecuencia, se pretende abonar a la identificación de aquellos elementos que determinaron el enfrentamiento y la clausura unilateral de las negociaciones mandatadas por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas entre la potencia ocupante, el Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte, y la República Argentina.
